Twining is an ancient art found all over the world. My artwork results from my love of music and nature. I hear color and see notes within the twined lines of the pieces I create. Hearing a beloved song from years ago, or hearing something new for the first time, will lead me to assemble a fabric palette and begin a textile composition. Nature is a sacred space for me and the experience of a place or season also translates to twining. My artwork is a meditative practice and each phase of the process takes time. From initial inspiration to material preparation to the twining itself, each completed piece represents a journey and an invitation.
